Getting started
Our work begins by engaging with local people.
Working with the local community is the foundation of what we do
Before anything else happens we visit the parish council to discuss rural housing and help raise awareness of affordable housing throughout the area.
Understanding local housing needs
The local authorities have a statutory duty to investigate the need for affordable housing in every village and town within their area. Local authorities have a 3 to 5 year rolling programme of Housing Needs Surveys to complete but NRHA can instigate a survey earlier if required.
If a housing need is found in a village then we will work with the parish council, local authority and other key partners to look at ways to meet the need. As any future developments are an asset to the whole village we want to involve the community in the process as much as possible.
